PROGRAM: STEADFAST

Fast pace. Steady presence.

Time is usually not the REAL problem.

The pace of executive life can be relentless. The problem, whether you are in a new context, or simply noticing what used to work no longer does, is that the pace stops you examining the things that matter most.

Steadfast develops an ability to expand your leadership range, by helping you understand what a shifting context does to the way you lead under pressure. It is core to all of my work, and also available as a standalone program for leaders ready to develop it directly.

This practice is fundamental to being a discerning and dynamic leader.

Fast pace. Steady presence.

THE CHALLENGE

Is the pace setting the terms?

Even the most capable senior executives can find themselves being carried by a pace they did not choose, responding to whatever pull is strongest.

The natural response is reactive, defaulting to what worked last time, or a surface level confidence that hides the self-doubt bubbling below.

For every leader, the context is different, but the pressures are often remarkably similar:

  • Moving fast. The organisation has outgrown the systems holding it together, and the strain comes out as tension and conflict.

  • Rising fast. You are in a bigger role and no longer the expert in the room, but still have to carry credibility and impact.

  • Held fast. Is the sheer pace making it almost impossible to make a move or are you having to lead through a holding pattern, held back by factors out of your control.

The challenge is to step out of the default and develop your leadership range, when nothing is certain, and to be guided by what is most important, rather than by just what is in front of you.

THE PROGRAM

Develop the ability to be curious around context, before defaulting to control.

When everything is moving, Steadfast equips you to find steady ground from which to lead, through practical, neuroscience-based tools.

Integral to the Steadfast approach is an ongoing reflective practice: Attune, Align and Adapt.

You attune to what is really going on, in you and around you. You align to who you are here to be. You adapt by listening, reading the context, and calibrating your response to it.

That steady practice is what makes discernment possible. When the ground beneath you shifts you’re not thrown, and when the moment calls for speed you move because you choose to, not because the pace decided for you.

THE SHIFT

From default to discerning

From default, reflexive reactions to choosing what actually deserves your attention and how you respond.

However, discernment isn’t necessarily about slowing down to speed up. It’s about consciously being deliberate in your response to the context you find yourself in.

Steady does not mean still.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Leaders operating at the executive level, and those on their way to it.

Are you stepping up and finding the ground less stable than it looked from below? Or are you already there, doing the job well, and want to master leading sustainably when the pace is unrelenting?

Both require the inner steadiness to be ready for what lies ahead.

Steadfast can be completed as a precursor to my other programs or as a standalone program helping you find the steady grounding needed to succeed in fast-paced executive roles.
